Stainless Design Opens Doors to Key Stakeholders

May 2008 - Stainless Design’s key stakeholders were treated to a rare opportunity this month. With the last stage of major expansion to Stainless Design completed, the doors were opened for everyone to celebrate.

The past six months have seen significant investment in building expansion to accommodate new world class capabilities.  Stainless Design now boasts New Zealand’s largest collection of renowned Trumpf machinery thanks to the recent addition of the Trulaser Tube 5000 rotary laser cutting machine in the Production Centre.

Earlier this month stakeholders were invited on a tour of the new facilities which included the new rotary laser cutting machine, a new 8x4 bead blasting booth, a new polishing shop, the 600 tonne capacity automated materials storage system,  the extensions to  the Fabrication Centre, Production Centre, Central Stores and Training Centre.

Guided by Stainless Design employees, visitors saw key capabilities, processes, and some examples of our production systems in action.

Ashley Smith, Sales and Processing Engineer for Tauranga based manufacturing company, Oasis Engineering, remarked ”We already had a pretty good idea of Stainless Design’s capabilities, but it was their KPI’s [key performance indicators] and scheduling that was interesting for us. The cleanliness of their workshop was very impressive.”

The now 5000sqm site has further defined Stainless Design as a leading design-to-manufacture operation with not only some of the most efficient and accurate machinery in the country, but also some of the finest workplace systems seen in the New Zealand metals processing industry.
