'Te oho Mauri o te Raina' – The Life-force of Steel

Our sculpture is a definitive part of who we are. It represents Stainless Design’s foundations, our links to history of the region, and the organic material that we passionately work with.

'Te oho Mauri o te Raina' is a commissioned piece of work by a local artist. It displays an almost organic look as it appears to have ‘risen up’ from the earth indicating where metals come from in their raw state.  It's strong base signifies a company with solid foundations.

Motifs and small decals are visible when you look closely, and these tell the story of the Waikato region - originally being an area rich in provisions for local Ngati Wairere tribe - with depiction of bird life, Miro Trees, Flaxes and the Waikato River itself.

The initials of our company name can also be seen in the sculpture’s form as a stylised 'SDL'.
